I’m still recovering from my lightning-fast trip to San Diego for Comic-Con International. The show was amazing. Somewhere between 80,000 to 100,000 people showed up, filled the entire convention center, and taxed the air conditioning to its limits. Every morning, it was chilly in the exhibit hall, but by mid-afternoon the scores of thousands of warm bodies made the whole …
San Diego Bound!
I’m off to Comic-Con International this weekend. I get in Friday and leave Sunday. If you want to track me down, I should be hanging around at the Green Ronin or IDW Publishing booths. I’m on a single panel on Sunday (click here for details), with an autographing session straight after. Please stop by and say hi!
Spiritkeeper Here Soon!
Secret of the Spiritkeeper should be here soon. I’m told it will be in stores in the first week of August. If you’re interested in the book and want to lend a hand, I recommend preordering the book through your local bookstore. This helps the booksellers to gauge interest, and it builds a bit of anticipation in the store about …
Comic-Con Coming Up
I finally bought my plane ticket for Comic-Con International. I arrive in San Diego Friday afternoon and leave Sunday night, so it’s bound to be an action-packed trip. I only have two official duties at the show. From the programming material sent to me, they are: Fantastic Fiction for All Ages: The Young Adult Market: Looking for ideas for summer …
Spiritkeeper Site Update
There’s a new page for Secret of the Spiritkeeper on the Knights of the Silver Dragon website. There’s even a sample chapter up here. It’s Chapter One, which I always find a great place to start. Plus, there’s a FAQ page right here. My favorite question? “How do you pronounce ‘Kellach’?” All in all, the site’s pretty cool.
Knights Site Up
Wizards of the Coast launched a website for the Knights of the Silver Dragon series of young-adult novels. The first of these is my own Secret of the Spiritkeeper. The site comes with some cool features, like an interactive map of Curston, the city in which the novels are based. Check it out!
More Knights
I just signed contracts for two novels in the Knights of the Silver Dragon series, of which Secret of the Spiritkeeper is the first. These won’t see print until the summer of 2006, but they form a two-book story arc that shakes up the setting with a catastrophic event.
San Diego Seminar
The fine people at Mysterious Galaxy Books in San Diego have asked me to participate in a seminar at Comic-Con International. It’s Sunday, July 25, at 12-1:30, and the topic is “Fantastic Fiction for All Ages – the Young Adult Market.” Mysterious Galaxy’s own Maryelizabeth Hart moderates me as well as Timothy Zahn, Jeff Mariotte, Emily Drake, and Sherwood Smith. …
Dragon Page Turned
I just finished the interview with Michael and Evo at The Dragon Page Radio Talk Show. The guys were easy with this rookie, and I had a great time. The show’s topic was young adult fantasy and science-fiction novels like my upcoming Secret of the Spiritkeeper, due out in August from Wizards of the Coast. The Dragon Pagers allowed me …
Eberron Novel Rolling Along
I’m pounding away at the first in my trilogy of novels for the spanking-new Eberron setting for Dungeons & Dragons, from Wizards of the Coast. It won’t see stores until early 2005, but it’s due Any Day Now. I’m trying to finish it before I head out for the BookExpo America show on June 5. While there, I’ll be in …
