This weekend, you can find me at Geek.Kon, the all-geek-matters convention in Madison, Wisconsin. I’m one of the guests of honor, along with Bill Bodden, Aaron Pavao, Kyle Herbert, Chad Corrie, Sandeep Parikh, and reps from Raven Software. I’ll be wandering around for a good part of the show, but my confirmed schedule includes “Gaming Publishing” at 1 PM on …
Guild Wars Novel Panel at PAX on YouTube
The savvy souls at ArenaNet managed to capture many of the panels the held at PAX on video. Better yet, they posted them on YouTube! They recorded one panel I was on with Will McDermott and Eric Flannum, speaking about my upcoming novel based on Guild Wars 2. It’s in two parts, and you can see each below. This took …
Geek.Kon Guest
After that last post, it might have seemed that I was all conned out for the year. Just when I think I’m free, though, they pull me back in! The fine folks at Geek.Kon, a new geek culture convention in Madison, Wisconsin, have asked me to be one of their guests this year. I’m slated for a couple panels and …
PAX, the Flu, and Delays
I had a fantastic time at PAX (the Penny Arcade Expo) last weekend. Unfortunately, since then I’ve been laid up with some evil con crud, and that’s substantially changed a few things in my schedule. Allow me to explain.
Next Con Up: PAX
My calendar reminds me that I don’t have that long here at home before I’m off again. I’ll be at PAX (the Penny Arcade Expo) this year, helping ArenaNet stalwarts Jeff Grubb and Will McDermott push my upcoming Guild Wars/Guild Wars 2 novel, Fall of Ascalon. Other than my schedule below, I’m free, so expect to see me running around, …
Fear the Boot Interview
I’m still digging myself out from under the ramifications of only being home for 6 days out of the last 30. Regular posts should resume soon. In the meantime, here’s a short interview I did with the fine fellows at FearTheBoot.com, right before the Brave New World event at Gen Con. At the moment, I’d already been up until 4:30 …
Gen Con, BNW: Revolution, and Parties
I’m prepping for Gen Con, which starts on Thursday, although I’ll be there on Wednesday for the Diana Jones Award party. I have a busy schedule lined up for myself, which includes my Industry Insider Guest of Honor panels, plus some events to promote the release of the Brave New World: Revolution proof-of-concept video. The big event, of course, is …
The 2009 Scribe Awards
At Comic-Con, the IAMTW announced the results of its annual Scribe Awards. As you might recall, my novelization of the Mutant Chronicles film was nominated for Speculative Fiction, Best Novel, Adapted. It lost out to Bob Greenberger‘s excellent Hellboy II novelization, but I got to sit between Bob and Jim Rollins on the panel. They both won awards, and basking …
Brave New World Show at Gen Con
At Gen Con, the big event for me is Matt Forbeck’s Brave New World: Experience the Revolution. At 4 PM on August 14, the Reactor 88 Studios folks show off the progress they’ve made with their finished proof-of-concept piece for a Brave New World feature film. This multimedia event also features a live concert by Makeshift Prodigy. (ENT0904588) The event …
Gen Con 2009 Schedule
My favorite time of year is coming up soon: Gen Con (August 13—16) I’m an Industry Insider Guest of Honor at my favorite show once again, and my schedule is packed. All of the seminars are in Room 212 of the Indianapolis Convention Center unless otherwise noted. All events (except for the VIG mixer) are free, although you must have …
