Lori: All conventions have problems. You can’t avoid that when you have so many people trying to do so many disparate things. It’s how the management responds that proves its worth. So, if you haven’t heard anything from Gen Con, I’d try again. They have a new director running the place these days, and Adrian (who was appointed last year) seems very committed to making the show as great as possible.

I’ve had a list of complaints that I’ve been compiling for years, and although I’ve sent it to GC LLC, I never received a response, and not much has changed. Maybe things improved in 2008, but I don’t know because I couldn’t afford to go. However, GC 2007 was not very good for me, and I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to return – that’s how bad I felt it was.

2009: I’m not sure if I’ll go. It’ll depend upon money.

My intial thoughts were that it was a good thing “cool, folks are stepping up to save GenCon from Bankruptcy”. But after Peter’s response it was clear that it wasn’t on the level.
