Thanks for the kind words. The last I hear, the first issue should be out in April, but that might have been pushed to May.

Lads did create several sketches of the characters. I didn't have final approval, of course—that's GW's bailiwick—but BOOM! has been fantastic about soliciting my input.

And, yeah, most of the names have some sort of angle on them. For the Germanic names, my editor asked me to make the names more Germanic to fit with the Empire in Warhammer, which is the basis for the Blood Bowl world. So I ran words through a translator until I found ones I liked. Dunkel Hoffnung means "Dark Hero," for instance.

Looking good Matt.

What is the ETA on the series?

I saw that cover on the Boom website, and it didn't strike me that it was Dunk. Must be a kinda internal visualisation thing. I am sure the artist will get in a flow with the character and the different perspectives on him will add up.

Did the artist do different renderings of the characters for you to approve?

I noticed the other day whilst translating a website at work into German that quite a lot of the naming comes from it (One of the words was beauty, and it got me checking other names...).

It's nice that there is another angle to the names. I know Blood Bowl has great humour and satire in it which is used a lot. I know you being a fan of Brett Farve and all, I liked Bavid Deckham. That made me chuckle.

Hope all is well.

This looks really good. The art fits nicely, if the cover artist will do the interior art as well. I can't wait to read them. I'm just finishing the third book, and my question for you, Matt, is, "Does the Emporer like Blood Bowl?"
