					<description><![CDATA[Thanks, everyone. The funeral was today, and I missed it. My father told me not to make the 16-hour round trip but instead plan to come out for an Irish wake planned for this spring. I know he would have preferred that. 

It was hard not being there, but I took a moment at the time of the ceremony to contemplate my grandfather&#039;s life and how much he meant to me and everyone else in my family. We&#039;ll miss him terribly, but he had a hard time his last few months, and at least he&#039;s free of that. He lived a long, wonderful life and met a peaceful end, surrounded by his family. We should all be so fortunate.]]></description>
