Those are good ideas, Joe. I'm sure those displays cost quite a bit, but perhaps Playmates would go for it. I'm glad to hear you like the game. You can get just such a coupon, by the way, if you can find an official tournament or demo to play in.

Someone touched on this earlier, but perhaps if you could SEE what's inside before you buy it. TRU usually has demos of Heroscape and Lego sets inside hard plastic shells.

You wouldn't need to roll the die, or touch the figures, but seeing what's inside and a simple step by step graphic on how to play would be most helpful. I played this game at a convention, and I really enjoyed it.

What if Playmates put some flyers in other boxes of toys (TMNT, etc) and you could send in a coupon for one figure. Then we could all get a sample and Playmates could have a mailing list of prospective clients to send out coupons for Starter Sets and Boosters.

I guess I am saying, the only thing stopping me right now is a coupon :)

Hi Draven!

I understand your point. The trick, for Playmates, is reaching a mass-market audience, which isn't always easy, no matter who you are and what the product is.

If you're looking for some intriguiging advanced rules ideas, check out the forums at www.marvelbattledice.com. The players there have come up with some great variants.

I collect the figures just beause I think they are neat and finely detailed for their size. Unfortunately, the rules are obviously for younger players. I've come up with much more complicated stats for the figures (at least, characters I'm familiar with). These stats include speed and you actually move your figures across maps to fight like most miniatures games. Problem is, its really close to the DnD miniatures game and doesn't utilize the pop-dice at all. Maybe I'll put a little more thought into that, but the point is, I beleive if there were a more "grown-up" way to play, it may bring in more players. These stats and maps could be downloadable from the Battle Dice Site.
