Ha! I suppose so, Don. That's one reason I have an Xbox. I can play games on it, but it's at home while I'm here in my office. :)

As for the article, I wasn't tickled so much by the fact that the New York Times covered a launch of a major, well-funded computer game. Rather, seeing the names and words of friends in print in the Paper of Record got me. Makes me feel all grown up. ;)

Nice article, interesting points, good quotes (although it does make me think where are we as an industry/cultural phenomenon when we still get titillated that the NY Times has talked about D&D?)

My big disappointment is that D&D Online is still Windows only software. :( Ah well -- keeps us Mac users at work, eh Matt?

I'm glad to hear the kids are still chucking the funny-shaped bones. (Wait, did that come out right?) :)

D & D online was mentioned on NPR here recently, too. What I like is that the online game seems to have sparked a lot of interest in the pen and paper game with my students. Most of them seem to only know about computer rpg's...

I've seen more stray dice around the school since word of D & D online than I have in 13 years of teaching.

best,
