Blood Bowl: The Omnibus

My first advance copy of Blood Bowl: The Omnibus showed up in my mail this afternoon. It is a thing of beauty: 768-pages of Dark (Humor) Fantasy Football goodness—each of the first three Blood Bowl novelsstuffed under a single cover.

If you have those books already, you’re set, except for a short introduction I wrote for this volume. If not, though, there’s no better way to jump into the deep end of this series.

You can find this massive book on shelves in November, just in time for your Thanksgiving football feast. It’s sure to whet your appetite for Rumble in the Jungle, , the fourth book in the series, due out before the end of the year.

It’s a real kick to see the books collected in a volume that rivals any Harry Potter book for length. Every time I look at the thing, I can’t stop grinning.

  1. I am indeed looking forward to getting this. I was about to order one of the single novels but saw the omnibus and thought ‘Oh, hell yes.’

Like you say, it will whet my appetite for Rumble in the Jungle when that is out.

I have a confidence before reading them that they will be good. Not sure where from, but I did just read your Q & A on the Black Library site and came here from it. Maybe what you said has persuaded me that you are enthusiastic about and captivated by what you write.

I used to play Blood Bowl a fair few years ago and still have an affinity for it. I love the background and context for it.

It is the same scenario with Necromunda. I own and have read all the novels in that series by the Black Library too. Some of those are cracking reads!

    Hope yours will be too.

(I do have a seed of an idea germinating in my head for a book set in the Necromunda world, I am so busy though I haven’t had time to outline it and write up some loose chapters. I will do it though, soon as time ceases to evade me…)

  3. Thanks for the vote of confidence, Mark! I do love what I do, and I really enjoy the Blood Bowl books. I hope you will too.

Good luck with your Necromunda novel idea. The world can always use more great stories.

  5. I might ask you to have a little proof read if I get as far as writing the prologue/1st chapter…

Let me know if that is alright. I know it won’t be real soon. Thanks.

Have you seen the video for the upcoming Blood Bowl PC game? Looks promising…

  7. I generally don’t read unpublished works by authors I don’t know personally, both for legal reasons and my constant struggle to keep up with everything else I do. I have made exceptions, but they’re rare. Let me know when you have something to show, and we’ll see what my schedule is like.

As for the PC game, no, I haven’t seem the video. I played a little of Chaos League, though, which is by the same people, and I’m looking forward to the game.
