Alliterates

Fellow Alliterate and good guy Wolfgang Baur just opened up a locked post on his Open Design site about the writing process. The net is filled with these, of course, but rarely about RPG design. As usual, Wolf is spot on. Check it out.

  1. Speaking of writing for rpgs, it looks like my prediction that Wizards would “officially” make Dragon and Dungeon online magazines has come true.

They are now referring to them as “online magazines.” Sad as I am to see Paizo lose the licenses, though I am subscribing to GameMastery and Pathfinder, it looks like Wizards is taking a page from Premiere.com.

  3. I realize, much to my dismay, that I didn’t mention that the Open Design essays that Wolfgang writes on his website are one of the biggest selling points of being an Open Design patron.

Wolfgang wrote a limited series of adventure design articles for Wizards online, that were very good, but they were only the tip of the iceberg as to the advice he hands out on a frequent basis to his patrons. It’s really remarkable. I rank the articles up there with “Robin’s Laws” that SJ Games published a few years ago as far as how much they influence my weekly game.

  5. Thanks for tips, Christian. It’s interesting to see Dragon and Dungeon get relaunched so soon. I’m looking forward to seeing how they manage it all.
