Late last week, a package showed up from Ace Books with my copies of The Silent Enemy by Richard Knaak. This is the last of the Age of Conan series of novels I edited for Ace and Conan Properties, and it’s a doozy. Richard does a great job with taking the hero from his first two Age of Conan novels in the Aquilonian trilogy right to the edge. If you’re a fan of Hyborian stories, be sure to check it out.
I had a great time working with Ace editor Ginjer Buchanan on these books. With any luck, this won’t be the last time we have the chance to do so, whether on Conan or some other books.

Got my copy. One of the things that I like about this series of books is that the trilogys in the series come out in a short enough timespan that I can wait, buy all three, and enjoy.

Too true. Originally we’d had them scheduled for one a month, but that got scaled back over time. They’re still released close enough that you can get them all together.

Is this the last of the Age of Conan books? Or just the last you edited…. I’ve enjoyed the heck out of the ones I’ve read (esp. York’s contributions).

This is the last of the Age of Conan books that is currently scheduled. I edited them all, although I took over from Jeff Conner toward the end of the first one from Loren Coleman. There may be others in the future, but much of that depends on how well these books sold, how the Conan film is coming along, and the alignment of the stars.
