Wizards of the Coast is launching a new library program called Adventures for Reluctant Readers, aimed at getting kids to read novels. The program includes a copy of Secret of the Spiritkeeper, so if you know any librarians who might be interested, please don’t hesitate to point them in the right direction. Thanks!

I’m a librarian and a roleplayer in Finland and I’m happy to see such programs as this which help introduce reading to children. Although this project is probably not directly usable in a non-english country, good people of WotC promised to send us some material as we are always seeking new ways to promote reading. Games, both rpg and boardgames, are already a good way of getting kids to step in to libraries, where it is possible to advertise reading to them. I think this project would work well with such schemes.

Anything that gets kids into the reading habit is wonderful. I applaud Wizards for its efforts. The fact that it pushes the Knights series is only icing on the cake. Keep up the good work, Jari!

Thanks, Elizabeth! I’m glad it’s of some use to you. I believe that Wizards plans to continue with the program, and I hope they do.
