If all my caterwauling on this site has yet to convince you to race out to your local bookseller or game store and buy Marked for Death, here’s a taste of sugar to sweeten the deal. Wizards just posted a sample chapter here (right-click to save the zipped PDF). The chapters in the book are short, but this espresso-like dose should give you an idea of the book’s flavor and my writing style. Enjoy!

I’m just reading your novel and I think it’s awesome. I’ve never read any of your stuff before but I really like the world of Eberron, and I’m reading anything I can get my hands on. Keep on writing, and I’ll keep on reading.

Hi Empathic Ghost:
Thanks for the kind words. I love Eberron too and hope to write many novels for it in coming years. I’m working on the second in The Lost Mark trilogy right now.

I am a US Marine stuck here on a Navy ship on my way to war and it is just my luck that I found your book in the little library. I just finished the chapter where Kandler, Sallah, and Espre escaped from Majeeda. This book is GREAT!! I read a lot of Fantasy novels; Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time, and Stephen R. Donaldson’s series of the White Gold Wielder are two of my favorites, I can’t wait to read the rest of your series, I can guarantee that it will be up there in my fav section as well. THANKS!!

Thanks, Duane! Read your e-mail for a private note, but I wanted to post publicly too how thrilled I was to get your note. I have nothing but respect for our fighting forces, and I’m happy if anything I write can bring a bit of fun into your lives. Keep up the good work, and come home safe!

I would also like to post publicly, thank you for the support. Nothing feels better than to know, when I am down and wondering why I am here, that there are people who really do appreciate it. Your book helps me pass the down time with JOY! THANK YOU MATT FORBECK!!
